From Insight to Action

Data that speaks. Data LIFT makes evidence work for people — fueling inclusive policy formation, influencing international development finance, and guiding national data systems. This is not just data for data’s sake. Its analysis put to work for the betterment of people's lives and the societies and economies they live in. Its evidence that unlocks LGBTQ+ economic power

Our work began with regional community roundtables — the first of their kind — that brought together over 210+ participants across government, law, economics, advocacy, and academia to discuss LGBTQ+ data and policies to combat economic exclusion

In 2024, Koppa Lab and UniBAM hosted two national Data Roundtables in Belize: one with the U.S. Embassy and another with the University of Belize. Ministers, MPs, diplomats, economists, academics, and LGBTQ+ organizations all gathered to engage directly with the findings. To extend impact, we also appeared in multiple media interviews, reaching thousands and raising visibility on LGBTQ+ economic power

Evidence into Action

Backed by robust data, UniBAM is leading advocacy for the Equal Opportunities Bill — Belize’s core non-discrimination legislation. At the international level, Data LIFT has presented findings to the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the UN Statistics Commission, and at other global convenings. These efforts are embedding LGBTQ+ realities into global frameworks that shape how aid, funding, and programming are designed for years to come
